The Emperor Who Thought He Ruled the World
In what many viewers describe as his most compelling address, Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel began with a striking comparison: Augustus Caesar and the modern world.
Augustus, he explained, stood as the most powerful political ruler of his time.
No president, no prime minister, no global superpower today, he argued, can openly claim the kind of authority Caesar exercised over the Roman Empire.
When Caesar ordered a census, the world obeyed.
Yet, according to the Bishop, Caesar’s greatest illusion was believing he was in control.
That decree requiring everyone to return to their ancestral towns set into motion the fulfillment of prophecy—bringing Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born.
In the Bishop’s telling, what Caesar believed was his own political strategy was, in reality, divine orchestration.
“God was controlling Augustus all along,” he said.
The message was clear: earthly rulers may appear powerful, but ultimate authority belongs to God.

That booklet contains instructions from the one who designed the product.
Ignore it, and the device may malfunction.

“When we throw the manual aside, the only thing left is experimentation,” he warned.

He insisted that being born into a Christian family or attending church is not enough.
